Peoria and its nearby towns offer several secondhand shopping models. The directory includes clothing thrift, antique dealers, vendor markets and architectural salvage. Start with one two-stop comparison that fits what you can identify, inspect and transport. The map is a set of leads, not a promise of stock or underpriced finds.

Trips awaiting confirmed visit details (1)

These suggested trips are not active because one or more stops need confirmed shopping hours or visit access. Their shop profiles remain available in the local directory; confirm each stop before making your own trip.

  • Architectural salvage & vintage signs

Peoria charity thrift

South Side Mission has separate Garden Street and War Memorial shops. The operator identifies clothing, furniture and appliances, with different closing times at the two branches. Its Morton store is closed; the main-campus address is not a substitute retail stop.

Antiques across Peoria and Washington

Anne’s Anteex on West Lake Avenue and Step Back in Time on North Main Street in Washington are separate destinations. The comparison crosses between communities. Step Back in Time describes three floors, but confirms wheelchair access only to the main floor through the rear entrance.

Salvage, vintage signs and nearby-town options

Peoria Architectural Salvage on SW Adams Street focuses on older building materials. Urban Artifacts on North Sheridan Road describes vintage signage, advertising and collectibles. They are different categories, not two equivalent salvage warehouses. Use the map for Pekin, East Peoria, Chillicothe and Metamora extensions.

Charity-thrift clothing comparison

Start with South Side Mission’s Garden Street shop, then compare the War Memorial branch. Inspect the actual clothing or household items; separate branches do not guarantee identical stock, prices or promotions.

  2. South Side Mission Thrift Store - War Memorial - Peoria, IL603 E War Memorial Dr, Peoria, IL 61614

The operator lists both Monday–Saturday from 9am. Garden Street closes at 5pm; War Memorial closes at 6pm. Confirm holiday exceptions. Donation acceptance is Tuesday–Saturday 9am–4pm, not the shopping schedule.

Antiques: Peoria to Washington

Compare Anne’s Anteex with Step Back in Time. Leave time to inspect maker marks, repairs, construction and completeness. Choose a smaller pair rather than assuming every nearby antique shop can fit into the same day.

  1. Anne’s Anteex - Peoria, IL603 W Lake Ave, Peoria, IL 61614
  2. Step Back in Time - Washington, IL116 N Main St, Washington, IL 61571

Thursday–Saturday is the source-supported overlap: Anne’s 11am–5pm and Step Back in Time 10am–5pm. Anne’s is closed Sunday–Wednesday. Step Back in Time closes on most major holidays; confirm the chosen date.

Before you buy or bring items in

South Side Mission’s operator page separates shopping, donation drop-offs and bulky-item pickup. If you are also donating, confirm acceptance and the Tuesday–Saturday window; purchases do not establish a pickup appointment.

Anne’s Anteex advertises antique buying and estate services. That does not establish an offer for a particular collection. Step Back in Time identifies rear-entrance main-floor wheelchair access; do not infer access to every floor.

The salvage warehouse has selected Saturday openings. Architectural materials may require dimensions, safe handling and a buyer willing to collect locally. Urban Artifacts’ tourism listing identifies its inventory focus but does not supply a complete shopping timetable.

Set a buying limit before the trip. Inspect condition, construction, missing parts and alterations; compare recent sold items in comparable condition; then include fees, shipping, preparation and your time. Shop type and a low sticker price do not establish profit.

Use the men’s jeans research and video, shirt label checklist and video, sourcing checklist and profit calculator. Historical examples are research prompts, not current valuations.

The shortlists do not calculate travel time or optimize your route. Confirm current openings, then change the order or remove a stop. Approximate pins identify recorded business locations, not guaranteed entrances, parking or accessibility. No firsthand shop recommendations are implied.

Practical questions for this trip

Can I use every shortlist on the same Saturday?

No. The salvage warehouse lists only the first and third Saturday, while Urban Artifacts needs opening confirmation. Other pairs have their own schedules.

Is Washington here the Iowa town?

No. This guide scopes the map to Illinois. The Washington stop is at 116 North Main Street, Washington, Illinois.

Do the three-floor antique shops have full wheelchair access?

That is not confirmed. Step Back in Time specifies main-floor rear-entrance access; ask about any other area or facility you need.
