Wabash: children’s resale and creative reuse
Once Upon A Child is a children’s resale shop on Wabash. Creative Reuse Marketplace has moved to White Oaks Mall, on the second floor outside Malibu Jack’s, and opens only Wednesday and Saturday 11am-3pm in its current schedule.
South Sixth and downtown paper collectibles
Sangamon County ReStore focuses on furniture, appliances, tools and building materials. Prairie Archives adds specialist books, comics, prints and paper collectibles downtown. Plan vehicle space and the drive between stops.

Creative Reuse Marketplace has paused donations for October; its public shopping schedule remains listed. Check the current donation notice rather than assuming the store is accepting supplies.
Indiya’s operator lists 3069 South Dirksen, while the tourism directory lists 3609. The owner’s contact page describes Friday/Saturday business hours and personal appointments with a $100 purchase guarantee; walk-in access still needs clarification.
WILD Thrift and Sniff’s weekly hours and postal ZIP conflict remain held. Its rescue’s foster/adoption appointment hours are not store shopping hours.
Hope Thrift Center, Springfield Vintage, Second Time Around and Abe’s Old Hat are already listed. This batch does not recreate those four destinations.
Practical questions for this trip
Are these routes timed or optimized?
No. Each shortlist is a starting pair. Check shopping hours, change the stop order, and use directions for your departure point. Opening a shared shortlist does not replace your saved trip.
Are shopping and donation hours the same?
Not always. Store profiles distinguish retail hours from donation or buying-counter access. Check the operator link before bringing items.
Does local ownership mean the shop is independent of a chain?
No. A locally owned franchise is still network-affiliated. Use shopping-type and operator filters separately; unconfirmed ownership stays unknown.

Rough driving ranges assume roads add 20–60% distance, with 20–35 mph for legs under 15 straight-line miles and 35–55 mph for longer legs. These are planning assumptions, not calculated road routes. Rivers, road layouts, traffic and parking can make actual travel much longer. Excludes your journey to the first stop, return home and shopping time. Check the route and current timing in Google Maps.
