West-side thrift & consignment
St. Vincent de Paul on Radford Court and Stuff Etc on Holliday Drive offer different shopping models. Start with St. Vincent on Friday or Saturday because it closes earlier; allow a separate drive between the stores.
THE SOURCING DIRECTORY
Compare Dubuque thrift stores, clothing resale and appointment-based vintage shops. Find addresses and recorded shopping hours, explore the map, and save a short route. For the Rescue Mission, use the active Central Avenue location; its Main Street shop is closed.

For donated-goods thrift, start with St. Vincent de Paul or the Rescue Mission’s active Central Avenue shop. For clothing resale, compare Stuff Etc, As They Grow and Plato’s Closet. CHAIN is a vintage option that needs confirmed access. Choose a shortlist below, then use the map and individual profiles to add or remove stops.
St. Vincent de Paul on Radford Court and Stuff Etc on Holliday Drive offer different shopping models. Start with St. Vincent on Friday or Saturday because it closes earlier; allow a separate drive between the stores.
As They Grow on Center Grove Drive offers children’s and family consignment. Plato’s Closet on Wacker Drive focuses on teen and young-adult styles and buys accepted clothing directly. Use this pair to compare categories and condition rather than assuming the same intake process.
The Rescue Mission’s active shop is at 998 Central Avenue. CHAIN Vintage is on the second floor at 375 Bluff Street, entered from the back above Monks Kaffee Pub. Arrange access or confirm a dated opening before adding CHAIN.
START WITH A SHORTLIST
These are starting points, not timed or optimized routes. Check each shop’s current hours, then change the order or remove stops. Opening a shortlist does not replace your saved trip.
Compare St. Vincent’s donated clothing and household goods with Stuff Etc’s consignment selection. Keep a buying limit for each item and check transport arrangements before buying furniture.
Monday–Saturday fits the recorded shopping schedules. St. Vincent closes at 4pm Monday, Friday and Saturday, and at 8pm Tuesday–Thursday. Stuff Etc lists Monday–Saturday 10am–7pm and Sunday 11am–5pm. Check exceptions before leaving.
Open west-side Dubuque shortlistStart at As They Grow, then compare Plato’s Closet. Check garment measurements, seams, closures and wear; match your research to the size range and style you can sell confidently.
Plan Monday–Saturday: As They Grow lists 10am–6pm weekdays and 10am–4pm Saturday, with Sunday closed. Plato’s Closet lists Monday–Saturday 10am–9pm and Sunday 11am–6pm. Shopping hours do not establish that intake is available.
Open Dubuque clothing shortlistVisit the Central Avenue Rescue Mission store, then add CHAIN only after arranging an appointment or confirming an advertised opening. This pair compares household thrift with curated vintage clothing; it is a proposed trip rather than a walk-in promise.
Appointment required for the vintage stop. The Mission currently lists Tuesday and Friday 9am–4pm, Wednesday–Thursday 9am–3pm, and Saturday 9am–3pm. CHAIN uses appointments and select dated openings; there is no guaranteed shared walk-in window. Sunday and Monday do not work for the full pair.
Open downtown Dubuque shortlistFor a short weekday visit, choose the west-side pair for thrift and consignment, or the clothing pair for family and young-adult resale. For Saturday, put the earlier-closing shop first. Keep the downtown appointment pair separate unless CHAIN confirms access; a map pin alone does not establish that a shop is open.
St. Vincent’s store policy says purchases have no returns or store credits and allows electronics to be plugged in for testing. Ask staff before testing, inspect completeness, and agree on pickup arrangements before paying.
Shopping and dropping off inventory are different activities. Stuff Etc Dubuque lists consignment Tuesday–Saturday, 10am–6pm, shorter than its shopping schedule. Read the current agreement and branch restrictions before bringing a load.
As They Grow’s contact page carries a dated no-drop-off notice for October 7–17, 2026, and announces seasonal intake beginning January 1, 2027. Check the latest notice before bringing clothing; a shop being open does not override an intake pause.
The Rescue Mission identifies 398 Main Street as permanently closed for additional shelter space. Use 998 Central Avenue for the active shop. Its donation drop-off schedule differs from its retail shopping hours; furniture pickup is by appointment.
CHAIN publishes select openings and appointment access, with a no-returns policy. Its second-floor location and back entrance matter when planning access. Contact the shop if stairs, entry or a specific garment are part of your decision.
Inspect labels, construction, measurements and flaws before calculating a buying limit. Use the sourcing checklist, clothing research library and profit calculator to include fees, shipping, supplies and needed repairs. Inventory photographs and low shelf prices do not establish demand.
For a clothing-focused trip, read the men’s jeans research guide or button-up tag-reading checklist. They link That Couple Flips videos about evaluating items; they are not shop reviews.
The operator store page lists Monday 9am–4pm, Tuesday–Thursday 9am–8pm, and Friday–Saturday 9am–4pm at 4990 Radford Court. Read the store profile and check exceptions before leaving. The operator lists no returns or store credits and allows electronics to be tested in store.
Compare St. Vincent de Paul with Stuff Etc Dubuque on the west-side shortlist. These are thrift and consignment formats respectively. St. Vincent’s owner confirms furniture donations and a delivery service, but check delivery terms, dimensions and condition before buying. Use the Stuff Etc branch page for current shopping and consignment arrangements.
St. Vincent de Paul and the Central Avenue Rescue Mission are thrift options. Stuff Etc and As They Grow offer consignment. Plato’s Closet buys accepted clothing directly; CHAIN is vintage with appointment or announced-opening access. Use the store-type filters below to compare the full directory.
None of these full pairs is a dependable Sunday itinerary. St. Vincent and As They Grow are closed Sunday, while the Mission is also closed and CHAIN’s openings vary. Stuff Etc and Plato’s Closet publish Sunday hours; choose individual stops and confirm current exceptions.
No. Its Mission stop is the separate active Central Avenue store. The closed Main Street listing is retained for historical clarity and excluded from suggested trips and default active results.
Only under each shop’s current rules. Stuff Etc has a separate intake schedule; As They Grow has dated intake notices. Plato’s Closet uses a direct-buy model, so it should not be treated as a traditional consignment account. Confirm accepted categories and capacity.
They are editable starting orders without travel-time optimization or automatic opening-hours checks. Opening a shortlist previews the suggested stops; use the controls to save or add it, reorder stops or remove any that do not fit your day.

YOUR SOURCING DAY
Add up to 20 stops, then use Move up / Move down to set your order. Check shopping hours before heading out. Directions follow your order; they do not optimize it.
Between-stop straight-line distances use approximate map pins. Rough driving ranges assume roads add 20–60% distance, with 20–35 mph for legs under 15 straight-line miles and 35–55 mph for longer legs. These are planning assumptions, not calculated road routes. Rivers, road layouts, traffic and parking can make actual travel much longer. Excludes your journey to the first stop, return home and shopping time. Check the route and current timing in Google Maps.
Your trip is empty. Choose “Add to trip” on a store card or map pin.
Longer trips open in groups of four stops so every stop is included on phones. Your saved trip stays in this browser and does not sync across devices.
