Thrift stores in Champaign–Urbana: choose your shopping day
Compare six source-reviewed stops for clothing and household thrift, creative reuse, used media, building materials and by-the-pound shopping. Four editable shortlists separate shopping models and opening windows.
Choose what you want to inspect before choosing a route. A community thrift store, a creative reuse shop and a weight-priced outlet are different buying environments. These online source reviews are planning leads, not firsthand reviews or a ranking of current inventory.
Trips awaiting confirmed visit details (1)
These suggested trips are not active because one or more stops need confirmed shopping hours or visit access. Their shop profiles remain available in the local directory; confirm each stop before making your own trip.

Urbana clothing and household thrift
Twice Is Nice at 607 West Elm Street is a church-run local thrift shop open only Tuesday and Saturday, 9am–3pm. Salt & Light on South Philo Road offers a broader Monday–Saturday shopping window. Its Champaign Anthony Drive branch is currently donation drop-off only, so it is not another retail stop.
Reuse and used media at Lincoln Square
Record Swap, suite 119, and The IDEA Store, suite 125 A/B, share Lincoln Square Mall at 300 South Broadway Avenue. Record Swap focuses on LPs, CDs and DVDs; The IDEA Store focuses on creative reuse materials. Record Swap names the south entrance off Illinois Street. Building pins are approximate and do not establish accessible entrances, loading or parking arrangements.
Champaign bins and home-improvement reuse
Goodwill’s Anthony Drive outlet opened September 29, 2026 and shares a site with traditional retail. The recorded Tuesday–Saturday 9am–5pm schedule is for the outlet; retail hours are separate. Its age minimum is 16, with full-coverage footwear required. ReStore on Glenn Park Drive adds furniture, appliances, cabinets and building materials; Wednesday–Friday shopping closes at 2pm. The later 5–6pm window is drop-off/pick-up only, not shopping.

3 stops
Tuesday or Saturday thrift mix
Compare two community thrift stores, then used music and media. Twice Is Nice is the first schedule constraint; reorder using actual directions from your starting point.
Combine the Elm Street thrift shop with creative reuse and used media at Lincoln Square. The two mall shops share a building; this is not three separate parking destinations.
Compare weight-priced outlet goods with community thrift merchandise. Keep the outlet’s age and footwear rules in mind. This pair crosses between Champaign and Urbana and is not a timed or optimized route.
A Champaign pair for outlet bins and home-improvement reuse. Check bulky-item dimensions and transport before paying; ReStore requires pickup within three working days.
Read the linked operator page before departure. Shopping, donations, buying appointments and assistance schedules are different.
The operator’s ReStore footer/contact details and a named OpenStreetMap building match support ZIP 61821; its page heading has a conflicting ZIP. The shop profile records the evidence and approximate pin.
Check condition, identity and comparable sold examples before buying. Use the free profit calculator with your actual costs; a neighborhood or shop type does not establish margin.
Practical questions for this trip
Which thrift stores near the University of Illinois should I compare?
For Tuesday or Saturday, compare Twice Is Nice on West Elm Street with the Lincoln Square reuse/media shops. Salt & Light is farther south on Philo Road. Use directions from your actual starting point rather than assuming a store is nearest.
Does Champaign have a Goodwill bins store?
Yes. Land of Lincoln Goodwill’s outlet is at 912 West Anthony Drive and publishes Tuesday–Saturday 9am–5pm. A traditional retail store shares the address, with a separate schedule.
Is Salt & Light in Champaign open for shopping?
The current operator page identifies the Champaign branch as donation drop-off only. Its Urbana branch at 1819 South Philo Road is the retail shopping stop.
Can I shop ReStore on a Wednesday evening?
The operator lists Wednesday–Friday shopping 10am–2pm. Its 5–6pm window on those days is for drop-off/pick-up only.

Keep your trip editable
Review the stops and reorder them before saving. Save trip in this browser stores the trip locally; private browsing storage may disappear when the session closes.
Add up to 20 stops, then use Move up / Move down to set your order. Check shopping hours before heading out. Directions follow your order; they do not optimize it.
How trip estimates work
Between-stop straight-line distances use approximate map pins. Rough driving ranges assume roads add 20–60% distance, with 20–35 mph for legs under 15 straight-line miles and 35–55 mph for longer legs. These are planning assumptions, not calculated road routes. Rivers, road layouts, traffic and parking can make actual travel much longer. Excludes your journey to the first stop, return home and shopping time. Check the route and current timing in Google Maps.
Your trip is empty. Choose “Add to trip” on a store card or map pin.
Longer trips open in groups of four stops so every stop is included on phones. Your saved trip stays in this browser and does not sync across devices. In private/incognito browsing, it is removed when you close the private session. Copy the share link to keep a portable version. A shared link contains only public store IDs.
No stores match these filters. Select another layer, broaden your search, or clear the filters.
A source check date records when a source page was reviewed. It is not a live opening status or a guarantee of inventory. Operator type is shown only when recorded or identifiable from a network brand; other entries remain unclassified. Closure notices are hidden until you choose to include them.
Browse every store profile by city
Open a city to browse its complete list. These links stay available while you use the filters and map above. A listed shop may have a closure notice; read its profile before planning a visit.
Confirm shopping hours, check the cost of shipping, and compare current sold listings before buying. Store-specific sales and restock claims need an official source.
